My name’s James McFarlane. I started developing Derbyshire Tags & Plaques when I was 15, and now at 16, I manage and make everything myself—from design and production through to customer support.
I saw that most vineyard tags on the market don’t last long. They fade, crack, or corrode quickly, which creates waste and frustration. So, I designed tags made from a bio-based, weather-resistant material that lasts season after season, cutting down on replacements and making life easier for vineyard teams.
I work closely with every customer to make sure the tags fit your vineyard’s exact needs. I’m always willing to hear new ideas or improvements to make the tags and service even better.
Our Impact
Material choice is really important—not just for making durable vineyard tags, but for reducing environmental impact.
Many vineyard tags use materials that degrade quickly, leading to frequent replacements. This creates unnecessary waste and increases the environmental footprint. These tags are made from a partially bio-based material selected specifically for long-term durability, weather resistance, and stability. This helps keep the tags clear and intact season after season, cutting down the need for replacements and waste.
All packaging uses recycled cardboard that is simple, fully recyclable, and free from unnecessary plastics. This minimises waste and supports responsible use of resources throughout the product’s life.
Focusing on long-lasting materials and eco-friendly packaging provides vineyard identification solutions that are practical and better for the environment.
“We switched from cattle tags, and these have exceeded all expectations in durability and appearance.”
